From the Noordereiland to IJsselmonde

We started in 1979 in a small workshop on the Noordereiland, close to the Willemsbrug bridge. We owe our name to that bridge. Over the years the garage grew into a modern workshop. Today you will find us at Boterdiep 11 in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, close to Stadion Feijenoord (De Kuip).

A lot has changed since 1979. Cars are full of electronics, run as hybrids or on electricity and have air con with new refrigerants. That is why we keep learning and invest in equipment. Our mechanics hold the GMTO certificate for hybrid and electric cars, and we are F-gas certified for car air con.

What has stayed the same is our small, close-knit team and the way we treat customers: clear explanations, a price in advance and no work without your agreement.

How we work

  • First the cause, then the price: when there is a fault, we first find out what is wrong, with modern diagnostic equipment (in Dutch). Then you hear what is needed and what it costs.
  • Only with your agreement: if more work is needed than agreed, we call you first. We only repair once you agree.
  • See the old parts: on request you can see the parts we replaced, as long as they are still available.
  • To the manufacturer’s schedule: we service your car according to the manufacturer’s specifications. Having your car serviced by us does not automatically void your manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Advice that suits your car: a procedure such as an automatic gearbox flush is something we only do if the type of gearbox and the complaint call for it.
  • Clear about what we do not do: some jobs we leave to specialists, such as tyre pressure sensors (TPMS), ADAS calibration, diesel particulate filters and airbags. We tell you straight away if that is the case.

Our workshop

Our workshop has five heavy-duty lifts, including lifts for motorhomes and commercial vehicles up to 3,500 kg. A Crafter, Sprinter or box van fits too. Is your motorhome very long or high? Call us in advance and we will check whether it fits on the lift.

We work with modern diagnostic equipment for all makes. Only trained mechanics work on the high-voltage system of hybrid and electric cars, following our safety procedures. You can check our GMTO certification in the public GMTO register.

Clutches, starter motors, alternators and engine work such as a head gasket are done in our own workshop.

Who we work for

  • Private customers: with a car of any make, including hybrid or electric.
  • Business customers: with a van or commercial vehicle up to 3,500 kg. If we have worked together for a while, you can pay by invoice as a regular business customer in the Netherlands, by arrangement. Read more about servicing of commercial vehicles.
  • Motorhome owners: for servicing, repair and the APK of the base vehicle. We do not work on the living area, such as gas, water and 230 V.
  • International customers: our team speaks English. We also help cars with a foreign number plate. An APK is only possible for a Dutch number plate. Read our English page on car repair or see our English contact page.
  • Customers from the region: our customers come from Rotterdam, Barendrecht, Ridderkerk, Capelle aan den IJssel, Krimpen aan den IJssel, Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht and Zwijndrecht, among other places.

Why is the garage called Willemsbrug?

We started in 1979 in a small workshop on the Noordereiland, close to the Willemsbrug bridge. We owe our name to that bridge. Online you will also find us as Allemerkengarage, the name of our website.

Where is the garage located?

You will find us at Boterdiep 11 in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, close to Stadion Feijenoord (De Kuip) and exit 24 Rotterdam-Feijenoord on the A16. The tram stop Stadion Feijenoord (line 3) is close by. There is free parking outside if there is space. See the route on our contact page.

What does it mean that you are an independent garage?

We are not tied to a make, dealer or chain. That is why we work on all makes. We service your car according to the manufacturer’s specifications. Servicing at an independent garage does not automatically void your manufacturer’s warranty.

Which vehicles can you bring to us?

You can bring us your car, including a hybrid or electric one, your van or commercial vehicle up to 3,500 kg and the base vehicle of your motorhome. Our workshop has five heavy-duty lifts, including lifts for motorhomes and commercial vehicles up to 3,500 kg. If your motorhome is very long or high, call us in advance.

Which approvals and certifications does Autobedrijf Willemsbrug have?

We are approved by the RDW to carry out APK inspections. Our mechanics hold the GMTO certificate for work on hybrid and electric cars. You can check that certification in the public GMTO register. For work on car air con with R134a and R1234yf we are F-gas certified.

What is the difference between the APK, servicing, diagnosis and repair?

The APK is the legal inspection of safety and emissions. We service your car according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. With diagnosis we look for the cause of a complaint or fault. With repair we fix the defect. If you combine the APK with a major service, the APK is free, except for Tesla and Polestar.

Do I hear the cost in advance?

Yes. For the agreed work you get a quote in advance, including VAT. If more work is needed, we call you first. We only repair once you agree. You will find the prices of the APK and the air con service on our homepage.

Does your team speak English?

How do I make an appointment?

Call +31 10 479 00 00 for servicing, repair, tyres or air con. You book your APK online for your car, van or motorhome. We work by appointment. For a quick question or check, you can walk in without an appointment. We schedule the APK on a weekday, because only then can we register the result with the RDW.
