The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK for your Peugeot costs € 50 for petrol, petrol hybrid and electric, and € 60 for a diesel with a factory-fitted DPF, including the particle counter test. The prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

If you combine the APK with a major service, the APK is free. You bring your Peugeot in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. If a repair is needed, we tell you the cost first.

Why have your Peugeot inspected at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?

We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. Our qualified inspectors check your Peugeot against the legal APK requirements. You know in advance what the inspection costs.

Many Peugeot models have the 1.2 PureTech engine with a wet timing belt. We have plenty of experience with it. On the 107 and 108 we check the exhaust and the clutch, and on the older 207 and 308 with the 1.6 THP we check the timing chain.

What do we check during the APK for your Peugeot?

The APK is the same legal inspection for every make: brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, seat belts, emissions and the vehicle identification (VIN and number plate). On a Peugeot, there are a few points we look at with extra care, or that you as the owner can keep an eye on:

  • 1.2 PureTech engine: the 208, 2008, 308, 3008 and 5008 often have the 1.2 PureTech with a wet timing belt, a belt that runs in the engine oil. On some versions this belt wears too quickly. Read more about problems with PureTech engines (in Dutch).
  • Manufacturer’s scheme: according to Autoreview, the Stellantis PureTech scheme covers your Peugeot. Under certain conditions, it runs for up to 10 years or 180,000 kilometres and is handled by an official dealer. A repair carried out by us is not covered by it.
  • 107 and 108: technically, the 107 is largely the same as the Toyota Aygo and Citroën C1. According to Autoblog, the clutch, the water pump and the rear silencer are known weak points. The 108 with the 1.0 engine has a chain. With the 82 hp 1.2 engine it has a wet belt.
  • 1.6 THP in the 207 and 308: the older 1.6 THP turbo engine is the same engine type as in the older Mini Cooper S. On this engine, the timing chain can start to rattle. If you hear a rattling noise on a cold start, have it checked.
  • Electric and plug-in hybrid: the e-208 and e-2008 do not get an emissions test. On the plug-in hybrid 3008 and 508, the petrol engine does get an emissions test. These cars mainly use the electric motor to brake, so the brake discs get little use and can rust.

Servicing your Peugeot with us

We service your Peugeot according to the manufacturer’s schedule and use oil that meets the specified standard. On the 1.2 PureTech this is extra important, because the right oil protects the wet timing belt. You do not need to go to the dealer for servicing.

  • Following the Peugeot schedule: we use your registration number to look up which service your car needs, and we use parts and fluids that suit your car.
  • Manufacturer’s warranty: having your car serviced by an independent garage does not automatically end your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the work follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts. We record the service in our system and you get an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
  • Free APK with a major service: if you have the APK done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.
  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give us your registration number. We will tell you straight away what the service costs.

Electric Peugeot and plug-in hybrid

The electric e-208, e-2008 and e-308, and the plug-in hybrid 3008 and 508, can all come to us for the APK and servicing. An electric Peugeot does not get an emissions test. On a plug-in hybrid, the petrol engine does get an emissions test.

Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they can work safely on hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).

Peugeot Partner, Expert and Boxer

Do you drive a Peugeot Partner, Expert or Boxer up to 3,500 kg with a grey number plate? Then the APK for vans applies: € 125. If your Boxer is a motorhome up to 3,500 kg, the APK costs € 100 to € 125. Read more about the APK for a van and the APK for a motorhome.

How much does the APK for your Peugeot cost?

Petrol, petrol hybrid or electric € 50
Diesel or diesel hybrid with a factory-fitted DPF € 60, including the compulsory particle counter test
Van (grey number plate) € 125. Read more about the APK for a van.

Frequently asked questions about the APK for your Peugeot

No need to click. All the answers are already open below.

Does my Peugeot have a wet timing belt?

Yes. If your Peugeot has a 1.2 PureTech petrol engine from before about 2023, it has a wet belt. This is the case for many 208, 2008, 308, 3008 and 5008 models. The 108 with the 82 hp 1.2 engine also has a wet belt. The 108 with the 1.0 engine has a chain. We can look it up with your registration number.

How much does it cost to replace the wet timing belt on a Peugeot?

We charge € 995, € 1,095 or € 1,250, depending on the model. This includes the timing belt kit, gaskets, new oil, the oil filter and cleaning the oil strainer. The water pump is not included.

Does the Stellantis PureTech scheme apply to my Peugeot?

Yes. According to Autoreview it does. Under certain conditions, Stellantis covers the costs of early timing belt wear, for up to 10 years or 180,000 kilometres. This is handled by an approved repairer for the brand. A repair carried out by us is not covered by the scheme.

How much does an APK for my Peugeot cost?

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK costs € 50 for a petrol Peugeot, a petrol hybrid or an electric Peugeot, and € 60 for a diesel with a factory-fitted DPF, including the particle counter test. The APK for a Peugeot van with a grey number plate costs € 125. With a major service, the APK is free. All prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

Do I need to wait during the APK for my Peugeot?

No. You bring your car in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. The inspection itself usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. On Saturdays we are open for servicing and repairs, but not for the APK.

What happens if my Peugeot fails the APK?

We call you first. We tell you what the problem is, what the repair costs and whether there are any extra inspection costs. Once you approve, we repair the fault, inspect the car again and register the APK result with the RDW. If your Peugeot failed the APK somewhere else, we carry out a new APK after the repair at our normal rate.
