Prices include VAT. The APK includes the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW. Is your van registered as a car, like many Caddys with a rear seat? Then you pay the price for a car. The second opinion fee is not deducted from any repair.

Why choose Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?

  • A quote in advance: we discuss the work and the cost with you before we start. If more work is needed, we call you first. We only carry out repairs after you approve them. You can see the replaced parts on request, while they are still available.
  • Open six days a week: you can come to us Monday to Saturday. We charge no extra on Saturday. We carry out the APK Monday to Friday.
  • RDW-approved: we are an APK station approved by the RDW.
  • Certified for air con, hybrid and electric: we are certified under the EU F-gas Regulation for R134a and R1234yf. Our mechanics hold the GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems) for work on hybrid and electric cars. This certification is listed in the public GMTO register.
  • Our own workshop: we do clutches, starter motors, alternators and engine work such as a head gasket ourselves.
  • Room for vans and motorhomes: we have five heavy-duty lifts, including lifts for motorhomes and commercial vehicles up to 3,500 kg. A Crafter, Sprinter or box van fits too.
  • Priority after a breakdown: if your car has broken down, it gets priority with us.
  • Wait or borrow a free bike: for a short job you can wait in our reception area with a cup of coffee. For bigger jobs you can borrow a free bike, while one is available.

Car air con specialist in Rotterdam

Other garages and dealers in the region sometimes call on us for stubborn air con problems. We are certified under the EU F-gas Regulation for work on air con systems with R134a and R1234yf.

Do we suspect a leak? Then we do not regas the system without looking further. First we find the leak, for example with a nitrogen test. Then we discuss with you which repair is needed. That way the air con does not stop working again shortly after a regas.

An air con service costs from € 120 for cars with R134a and from € 180 for cars with R1234yf. The price depends partly on the specified amount of refrigerant. R1234yf is used in many newer cars and costs more to buy. Repairs, parts and extra refrigerant are not included in the starting price. We discuss those costs with you in advance.

An air con service includes:

  • recovering the refrigerant in the system
  • putting the system under vacuum
  • a leak check
  • filling with the specified amount of refrigerant
  • a check of the operation and the vent temperature

Today you will find us at Boterdiep 11 (3077 AW) in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, close to Stadion Feijenoord (De Kuip) and exit 24 Rotterdam-Feijenoord on the A16. The A15 is five minutes’ drive away. You can park for free outside our garage if there is space. The Stadion Feijenoord tram stop (line 3) is nearby.

Where is Autobedrijf Willemsbrug and what are the opening hours?

You will find us at Boterdiep 11 in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, close to De Kuip. We are open Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 17.30 and on Saturday from 9.00 to 15.00. We charge no weekend surcharge on Saturday. We are closed on Sunday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

How do I make an appointment?

How much does an APK cost?

An APK costs € 50 for a petrol car, a petrol hybrid or an electric car. For a diesel or diesel hybrid with a factory-fitted DPF you pay € 60, including the particle counter test. For an LPG car or another diesel, ask us for the price. The APK for a van registered as a commercial vehicle costs € 125, electric vans included. A motorhome costs € 100 to € 125. With a major service the APK is free, except on a Tesla or Polestar.

How does the APK work with you?

You bring your car between 8.00 and 8.30 am on the day of the appointment. We call you as soon as the inspection is done. If something needs repairing, you hear the cost first. We only carry out repairs after you approve them. We book the APK Monday to Friday, because those are the only days we can register the result with the RDW.

Will I know the cost in advance?

Yes. For the agreed work you get a quote in advance, including VAT. If more work is needed, we call you first. We only carry out repairs after you approve them. You pay by debit card or cash. Our repairs come with a warranty. With the quote you hear which warranty you get.

What should I do after a breakdown?

Have ANWB roadside assistance (Wegenwacht) or your breakdown service bring your car to us. We do not have our own tow truck. Broken-down cars get priority with us. Outside opening hours you can leave the car outside our garage at your own risk, with the key in an envelope in our letterbox. Will my manufacturer’s warranty be void if you service my car?

No. Servicing at an independent garage does not automatically void your manufacturer’s warranty. We work to the manufacturer’s specifications. Ask us in advance which servicing conditions apply to your car. Read more about servicing by make.

Which jobs do you not do?

We do not program or replace tyre pressure sensors (TPMS) and we do not repair window motors, door lock motors, sliding doors or parking sensors. We also do not do ADAS calibration, pre-purchase inspections, cleaning or replacing DPFs, AdBlue systems, parking heaters or airbags. We do not replace or adjust bulbs or headlights either. On a motorhome we only work on the base vehicle.
