Two Dutch terms first. The APK (Algemene Periodieke Keuring) is the compulsory periodic roadworthiness test in the Netherlands, comparable to the MOT in the United Kingdom. The RDW is the Dutch vehicle authority. It keeps the vehicle register and approves garages that may carry out the APK. We are an RDW-approved APK station.

How can you find out in advance what work on your car will cost?
You call us with your registration number (the number on your number plate) and we look up what your car needs. We do not quote an hourly rate. We tell you one price in advance based on your registration number, and we only do extra work with your approval.
This is how it works in practice:
- Call with your registration number: call +31 10 479 00 00 or walk in. With the registration number we look up your engine, version and the manufacturer’s service schedule.
- One price in advance: we tell you what the work costs, including parts, labour and VAT.
- Diagnosis first if there is a fault: if the cause is not yet known, we find it first. After that, we tell you what the repair costs.
- Your approval: we only start once you have approved the work.
- Something else found? Then we call you first. We only do extra work with your approval.
- Collecting and paying: we call you when the car is ready. You pay when you collect it.
You get a warranty on our repairs. With the quote we tell you which warranty applies. What you can expect from a garage in the Netherlands on quotes, extra work and complaints is explained in our guide to your rights at a Dutch garage.
Why is there no amount for a service or repair?
Because costs vary a lot from car to car, we do not publish an amount for a service or repair on our website. You do get a quote in advance for your own car.
For a service, the manufacturer’s schedule decides what needs to be done. A small petrol city car needs different work from an SUV with an automatic gearbox or a hybrid. The mileage also plays a part. One service only includes oil and filters. The next may also include spark plugs, brake fluid or a timing belt.
One amount on the website would be too high for one car and too low for another. That is why we ask for your registration number. Read more about what happens during a minor or major car service. For larger repairs, our cost guides explain what determines the price: brake replacement, timing belt replacement and clutch replacement.
What is included in the APK price, and what is not?
Our APK price includes the test itself, the inspection report, registering the result with the RDW and VAT. Repairs, parts and servicing are not included.
According to the ANWB, the Dutch motoring association, garages compete on the price of the APK. Some garages charge extra for the soot measurement, the four-gas emissions test or registering the result. So ask every garage what is included in its APK price.
We carry out the APK Monday to Friday. You can book an APK appointment online.
How can you pay?
You pay by debit card or cash. We do not accept credit cards.
Do you drive a lease car? Ask your lease company first whether you may choose your own garage. If you may, you are welcome. If the car belongs to you or your company, you choose your own garage.
What do we not do?
We would rather tell you in advance what we do not do than have you make a wasted trip. The following is not part of our services or prices:
