The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, your Nissan gets a minor or major service according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. If your Nissan is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty stays valid as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule, even if you do not go to the dealer.

The price depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs. You can also visit our workshop.

If you combine a major service with the APK (MOT), the inspection is free. You drop off your Nissan Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. If extra work is needed, we call you first.

Why have your Nissan serviced at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?

We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. We service your Nissan to the manufacturer’s specifications, with parts and oil that suit your car.

The Qashqai is by far the most common Nissan in the Netherlands. We know its weak points: the CVT automatic and, on the 1.2 DIG-T, oil consumption. You are also welcome with an e-Power drivetrain or an electric Leaf or Ariya.

What servicing does the manufacturer specify for your Nissan?

Nissan sets a service schedule for each model and engine. A service is usually due after a year or after a set number of kilometres, whichever comes first. We use your registration number to look up the schedule for your Nissan. That way you know in advance whether it will be a minor or a major service.

Many Nissans with an automatic have a CVT. This is a continuously variable automatic that works with a steel belt. The fluid in this gearbox is special. We use the CVT fluid that Nissan specifies for your gearbox. With the wrong fluid, the gearbox can start to slip or jerk.

We use your registration number to look up which service your Nissan needs and, where possible, we read the service indicator. After the service, we reset the service reminder, if our equipment can do this.

Minor or major service for your Nissan?

Which service your car needs depends on the model, the engine, the age and the mileage. A minor and a major service usually include the following:

Part Minor service Major service
Engine oil and oil filter Change and replace Change and replace
Fluids Check and top up if needed Check, change the brake fluid if the schedule requires it
Brakes and tyres Check for wear Thorough check, including brake discs and brake pads
Filters Check Replace the air filter and cabin filter according to the schedule
Spark plugs (petrol) Not standard Replace at the manufacturer’s interval
Battery Check Test with a battery tester
Timing belt (if the engine has one) Not standard Check whether the belt is due for replacement at the set interval
APK Book separately Free if you combine it with a major service

Common Nissan models and what we check during a service

These Nissan models are the most common in the Netherlands, according to RDW open data. We can service all of these models.

Model Number in the Netherlands What we check during a service
Qashqai 111,664 On the 1.2 DIG-T: oil consumption. On the CVT: how the gearbox drives. On e-Power: oil for the petrol engine.
Micra 47,216 Oil, brakes and tyres. On older cars, also rust and brake lines.
Note 24,321 Oil, brakes and tyres. On a CVT automatic, we check for jerking when you pull away.
Juke 22,894 On a CVT automatic: jerking when you pull away. On the turbo engine, the oil level too.
Leaf 12,385 Electric: no engine oil. Brakes, brake fluid, tyres and cabin filter still need servicing. The brake discs can rust.
Pixo 11,612 Small city car, technically the same as the Suzuki Alto: oil, brakes and tyres.
X-Trail 8,841 Oil, brakes and tyres. On a diesel, the DPF (diesel particulate filter). On e-Power, the oil for the petrol engine.
Almera 5,644 Older car: oil, brakes, suspension and rust on load-bearing parts.
Pulsar 3,710 Often a 1.2 DIG-T: the oil level and oil consumption. Also the brakes and tyres.
Ariya 2,267 Electric: no engine oil, but brakes, brake fluid, tyres and cabin filter as scheduled.
Primera 1,738 Older car: oil, brakes, suspension and rust on load-bearing parts.

What do we check when servicing your Nissan?

At every service we follow the manufacturer’s schedule. For your Nissan, we also pay extra attention to these points:

  • CVT automatic: according to Autoreview, the CVT automatic in the 2014 to 2021 Qashqai can suffer bearing failure or a loss of oil pressure. The gearbox then feels jerky or rough. Changing the fluid on time, according to the schedule, can help the gearbox. We look up what the Nissan schedule requires.
  • Oil consumption of the 1.2 DIG-T: according to Autoreview, some owners of a Qashqai with the 1.2 DIG-T report high oil consumption. During the service we check the oil level and can measure how much oil the engine uses. Between services, it is best to check the level yourself.
  • e-Power: on the Qashqai and X-Trail e-Power, only the electric motor drives the wheels. The petrol engine only generates electricity. That engine still gets oil, filters and spark plugs according to the Nissan schedule.
  • Leaf battery: the Leaf battery has no liquid cooling. Heat therefore has more effect on the battery. The Ariya does have a liquid-cooled battery. On that car we check the coolant according to the schedule.
  • Diesel with DPF: a Qashqai or X-Trail with a dCi diesel engine usually has a DPF. If you mainly make short trips, the filter can fill up faster. We check the filter and the fault codes during the service.

Servicing a Nissan e-Power, Leaf or Ariya

The electric Leaf and Ariya have no engine oil, spark plugs or timing chain. They still need servicing: brakes, brake fluid, tyres, suspension and cabin filter, according to the Nissan schedule. On the Ariya, that includes the battery cooling. On the Qashqai and X-Trail e-Power, the petrol engine gets oil and filters according to the schedule.

Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they are trained to work safely on the high-voltage systems of hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).

How much does a service for your Nissan cost?

The price of a service differs from car to car. The model, the engine, the specified oil and the mileage determine what needs to be done and which parts are needed. That is why we do not give an amount on this page.

  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give your registration number and mileage. We tell you straight away what the service costs, including VAT.
  • You can also drop in: visit our workshop at Boterdiep 11. We look at your Nissan and tell you on the spot what the service costs.
  • Extra work: if we find something during the service that was not part of the agreement, we call you first. We only do extra work with your approval.
  • Free APK: if you have the APK for your Nissan done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.

Does the manufacturer’s warranty on your Nissan stay valid?

Yes. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. This follows from the European rules for the motor industry. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. We record the service in our system and, if you have a service book, in that too. You receive an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.

Frequently asked questions about servicing your Nissan

No need to click: all the answers below are already open for you.

Does the CVT automatic in my Nissan need servicing too?

Yes. The fluid in a CVT ages. We look up when Nissan specifies new fluid for your gearbox and use the matching fluid. If your Nissan jerks when pulling away, mention it when you bring it in for its service.

Does my Qashqai e-Power need oil too?

Yes. The petrol engine in the e-Power generates electricity for the electric motor. That engine gets oil, an oil filter and spark plugs according to the Nissan schedule.

My Qashqai with the 1.2 DIG-T uses a lot of oil. Is that normal?

No. A little oil consumption is normal, a lot is not. According to Autoreview, some owners of this engine report high oil consumption. During the service we can measure how much oil the engine uses and look for the cause.

How much does a service for my Nissan cost?

It depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs, including VAT. You can also visit our workshop. If you combine a major service with the APK, the inspection is free.

Will my manufacturer’s warranty be void if you service my Nissan?

No. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. You receive an invoice listing all the work.

Can I wait while you do the service?

No. You drop off your Nissan Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. A minor service is often ready within a few hours. We call you when the car is ready.

Where is your workshop, and can I come to you from outside Rotterdam?
