The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, your Suzuki gets a minor or major service according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. If your Suzuki is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty stays valid as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule, even if you do not go to the dealer.

The price depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs. You can also visit our workshop.

If you combine a major service with the APK (MOT), the inspection is free. You drop off your Suzuki Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. If extra work is needed, we call you first.

Why have your Suzuki serviced at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?

We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. We service your Suzuki to the manufacturer’s specification, with parts and oil that suit your car.

The Swift and the Alto are the most common Suzukis in the Netherlands. They are small, economical cars that often last a long time. We know the K-series petrol engines, Smart Hybrid and the four-wheel drive on the Jimny and the Vitara.

What servicing does the manufacturer specify for your Suzuki?

Suzuki sets a service schedule for each model, with an interval in kilometres and a period in months, whichever comes first.

A new Suzuki comes with a three-year manufacturer’s warranty. According to Autozine, Suzuki in the Netherlands then lets you extend the warranty one year at a time, up to ten years. This extension is linked to a service at an official Suzuki dealer. The manufacturer’s warranty itself stays valid if we carry out the service according to the schedule. If you want the extension, ask Suzuki which conditions apply to your car.

We use your registration number to look up which service your Suzuki needs and, where possible, we read the service indicator. After the service, we reset the service reminder, if our equipment can do this.

Minor or major service for your Suzuki?

Which service your car needs depends on the model, the engine, the age and the mileage. A minor and a major service usually include the following:

Part Minor service Major service
Engine oil and oil filter Change and replace Change and replace
Fluids Check and top up if needed Check, change the brake fluid if the schedule requires it
Brakes and tyres Check for wear Thorough check, including brake discs and brake pads
Filters Check Replace the air filter and cabin filter according to the schedule

Battery Check Test with a battery tester
Timing belt (if the engine has one) Not standard Check whether the belt is due for replacement at the set interval

What do we check when servicing your Suzuki?

At every service we follow the manufacturer’s schedule. For your Suzuki, we also pay extra attention to these points:

  • Warranty extension up to ten years: according to Autozine, the extra years of warranty from Suzuki in the Netherlands are linked to servicing at an official Suzuki dealer. The three-year manufacturer’s warranty stays valid if you have your car serviced with us. Weigh this up before you make an appointment.
  • Timing chain: the K-series petrol engines in models such as the Swift, Baleno, Ignis, Vitara and S-Cross have a timing chain. It runs in the engine oil. With clean oil that is changed on time, the chain stays in good condition.
  • Smart Hybrid: many newer Suzukis have Smart Hybrid. This is a petrol engine with a small electric motor that helps when pulling away. The system usually runs on 12 volts. On the 1.4 Boosterjet in the Vitara and S-Cross, it is 48 volts. The petrol engine gets oil and filters according to the schedule.
  • Jimny with ladder chassis: the Jimny is a true off-roader with a separate steel frame under the body. We look under the car for rust on the chassis, the suspension and the brake lines.
  • Four-wheel drive (AllGrip): on a Vitara, S-Cross, Ignis or Swift with four-wheel drive, we also look at the driveshafts and the rubber covers around them (CV boots).
  • Swace and Across: the Swace and the Across are built by Toyota. The Swace is a petrol hybrid and the Across is a plug-in hybrid. We service them according to the schedule that goes with the Toyota technology.

Servicing your hybrid or electric Suzuki

The electric e Vitara has no engine oil, spark plugs or timing belt. It still needs servicing: brakes, brake fluid, tyres, suspension, cabin filter and battery cooling according to the Suzuki schedule. On the Swace (petrol hybrid) and the Across (plug-in hybrid), the petrol engine gets oil and filters according to the schedule.

Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they are trained to work safely on the high-voltage systems of hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).

How much does a service for your Suzuki cost?

The price of a service differs from car to car. The model, the engine, the specified oil and the mileage determine what needs to be done and which parts are needed. That is why we do not give an amount on this page.

  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give your registration number and mileage. We tell you straight away what the service costs, including VAT.
  • You can also drop in: visit our workshop at Boterdiep 11. We look at your Suzuki and tell you on the spot what the service costs.
  • Extra work: if we find something during the service that was not part of the agreement, we call you first. We only do extra work with your approval.
  • Free APK: if you have the APK for your Suzuki done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.

Does the manufacturer’s warranty on your Suzuki stay valid?

Yes. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. This follows from the European rules for the motor industry. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. We record the service in our system and, if you have a service book, in that too. You receive an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
