Why have your Hyundai inspected at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?

We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. Our qualified inspectors check your Hyundai against the legal APK requirements. You know in advance what the inspection costs.

What do we check during the APK for your Hyundai?

The APK is the same legal inspection for every make: brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, seat belts, emissions and the vehicle identification (VIN and number plate). On a Hyundai, there are a few points we look at with extra care, or that you as the owner can keep an eye on:

  • Hyundai warranty: in the Netherlands, Hyundai offers a five-year manufacturer’s warranty with no mileage limit. It does not automatically end if an independent garage services your car, as long as the work follows the Hyundai schedule and uses suitable parts.
  • Kona Electric and Ioniq Electric recall: according to Nieuws.nl, in 2021 Hyundai recalled 5,436 Kona Electric and 772 Ioniq Electric cars in the Netherlands, built from 2018 to 2020. The battery was replaced on these cars. If you drive a used one, check whether this has been done.
  • Small cars: on the i10, Atos and Getz, the tyres, brakes and lights are the main things we check during the APK. We check older cars extra carefully for rust.
  • Hybrid: on the hybrid Tucson and Kona, the petrol engine gets an emissions test. These cars mainly use the electric motor to brake, so the brake discs get little use and can rust.
  • Electric: the Kona Electric, Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and Inster do not get an emissions test. We do pay extra attention to the tyres, brakes and suspension.

Servicing your Hyundai with us

We service your Hyundai following the manufacturer’s schedule, with oil and parts that suit your car. We record the service, so you can show that the maintenance was done on schedule.

  • Following the Hyundai schedule: we use your registration number to look up which service your car needs, and we use parts and fluids that suit your car.
  • Manufacturer’s warranty: the Hyundai manufacturer’s warranty does not automatically end if we service your car, as long as the work follows the Hyundai schedule and uses suitable parts. So keep the invoice for every service.
  • Free APK with a major service: if you have the APK done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.
  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give us your registration number. We will tell you straight away what the service costs.

Hyundai Kona, Ioniq and Inster

We can do the APK and servicing on the Kona Electric, Ioniq, Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and Inster, and on the hybrid Tucson and Kona. A fully electric Hyundai does not get an emissions test. On a hybrid, the petrol engine does get an emissions test.

Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they can work safely on hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).

Frequently asked questions about the APK for your Hyundai

No need to click. All the answers are already open below.

Will I lose my Hyundai warranty if you service my car?

No. The manufacturer’s warranty does not automatically end if an independent garage services your car, as long as the work follows the Hyundai schedule and uses suitable parts. Keep the invoice for every service. The APK has no effect on the warranty.

My Kona Electric is from 2019. Is there anything I should check?

Yes. Hyundai replaced the battery on many Kona Electric and Ioniq Electric cars from 2018 to 2020 because of a recall. A Hyundai dealer can use your registration number to check whether this has been done on your car. You are welcome to come to us for the APK.

Do you also inspect the Ioniq 5 and the Inster?

Yes. The APK for an electric Hyundai costs € 50. There is no emissions test. We do pay extra attention to the tyres, brakes and suspension.

How much does an APK for my Hyundai cost?

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK costs € 50 for a petrol Hyundai, a petrol hybrid or an electric Hyundai, and € 60 for a diesel with a factory-fitted DPF, including the particle counter test. With a major service, the APK is free. All prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

Do I need to wait during the APK for my Hyundai?

No. You bring your car in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. The inspection itself usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. On Saturdays we are open for servicing and repairs, but not for the APK.

What happens if my Hyundai fails the APK?

We call you first. We tell you what the problem is, what the repair costs and whether there are any extra inspection costs. Once you approve, we repair the fault, inspect the car again and register the APK result with the RDW. If your Hyundai failed the APK somewhere else, we carry out a new APK after the repair at our normal rate.
