The short answer
At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, your Opel gets a minor or major service according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. If your Opel is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty stays valid as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule, even if you do not go to the dealer.
The price depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs. You can also visit our workshop.
If you combine a major service with the APK (MOT), the inspection is free. You drop off your Opel Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. If extra work is needed, we call you first.

Why have your Opel serviced at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?
We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. We service your Opel to the manufacturer’s specifications, with parts and oil that suit your car.
Many newer Opels have the same 1.2 Turbo as Peugeot and Citroën. This is the PureTech engine, with a wet timing belt (a belt that runs in the engine oil). We have a lot of experience with this engine. We also service older Opels with the Easytronic gearbox, and the Corsa-e.

What servicing does the manufacturer specify for your Opel?
Opel sets a service schedule for each engine, with an interval in kilometres and a period in months. Whichever comes first is what counts.
On the 1.2 Turbo (PureTech), the timing belt runs in the engine oil. The right oil matters even more on this engine. According to NTN-SNR, the oil gets dirty faster if you drive less than 15,000 kilometres a year, especially in town. In that case we advise fresh oil every year.
According to the ANWB, the original interval for the belt was 175,000 kilometres or ten years. Dealers now often advise a check after 100,000 kilometres or six years. We check the belt and tell you beforehand what is needed.
We use your registration number to look up which service your Opel needs and, where possible, we read the service indicator. After the service, we reset the service reminder, if our equipment can do this.
Minor or major service for your Opel?
Which service your car needs depends on the model, the engine, the age and the mileage. A minor and a major service usually include the following:
| Part | Minor service | Major service |
|---|---|---|
| Engine oil and oil filter | Change and replace | Change and replace |
| Fluids | Check and top up if needed | Check, change the brake fluid if the schedule requires it |
| Brakes and tyres | Check for wear | Thorough check, including brake discs and brake pads |
| Filters | Check | Replace the air filter and cabin filter according to the schedule |
| Spark plugs (petrol) | Not standard | Replace at the manufacturer’s interval |
| Battery | Check | Test with a battery tester |
| Timing belt (if the engine has one) | Not standard | Check whether the belt is due for replacement at the set interval |
| APK | Book separately | Free if you combine it with a major service |

What do we check when servicing your Opel?
At every service we follow the manufacturer’s schedule. For your Opel, we also pay extra attention to these points:

Servicing your hybrid or electric Opel
The Corsa-e and the electric Mokka have no engine oil, spark plugs or timing belt. They still need servicing: brakes, brake fluid, tyres, suspension, cabin filter and battery cooling, following the Opel schedule. On the plug-in hybrid Grandland, the petrol engine gets oil and filters according to the schedule.
Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they are trained to work safely on the high-voltage systems of hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).
How much does a service for your Opel cost?
The price of a service differs from car to car. The model, the engine, the specified oil and the mileage determine what needs to be done and which parts are needed. That is why we do not give an amount on this page.
Does the manufacturer’s warranty on your Opel stay valid?
Yes. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. This follows from the European rules for the motor industry. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. We record the service in our system and, if you have a service book, in that too. You receive an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
