The short answer
At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, your Chinese car gets a minor or major service according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. If your Chinese car is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty stays valid as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule, even if you do not go to the dealer.
The price depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs. You can also visit our workshop.
If you combine a major service with the APK (MOT), the inspection is free. You drop off your Chinese car Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. If extra work is needed, we call you first.

Why have your Chinese car serviced at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?
We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. We service your Chinese car to the manufacturer’s specifications, with parts and oil that suit your car.
More and more people in the Netherlands drive a car from a Chinese brand. Many of these brands still have few workshops of their own. We service these cars to the manufacturer’s schedule too. Our mechanics hold the GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems) for work on electric and hybrid cars.

What servicing does the manufacturer specify for your Chinese car?
Each brand has its own service schedule. A service is usually due after a set number of kilometres or after a year, whichever comes first. On an electric car, the work mainly covers brakes, brake fluid, tyres, suspension, the cabin filter and battery cooling.
If your car also has a petrol engine, such as a hybrid, a plug-in hybrid or a car with a range extender, it needs fresh oil, a new oil filter and, later on, new spark plugs. We use the oil the manufacturer specifies for your engine. Keep the invoices from every service, as you may need them for the warranty.
We use your registration number to look up which service your Chinese car needs and, where possible, we read the service indicator. After the service, we reset the service reminder, if our equipment can do this.
Minor or major service for your Chinese car?
Which service your car needs depends on the model, the engine, the age and the mileage. A minor and a major service usually include the following:
| Part | Minor service | Major service |
|---|---|---|
| Engine oil and oil filter | Change and replace | Change and replace |
| Fluids | Check and top up if needed | Check, change the brake fluid if the schedule requires it |
| Brakes and tyres | Check for wear | Thorough check, including brake discs and brake pads |
| Filters | Check | Replace the air filter and cabin filter according to the schedule |
| Spark plugs (petrol) | Not standard | Replace at the manufacturer’s interval |
| Battery | Check | Test with a battery tester |
| Timing belt (if the engine has one) | Not standard | Check whether the belt is due for replacement at the set interval |
| APK | Book separately | Free if you combine it with a major service |

What do we check when servicing your Chinese car?
At every service we follow the manufacturer’s schedule. For your Chinese car, we also pay extra attention to these points:

Servicing your hybrid or electric Chinese car
Most Chinese cars in the Netherlands are electric. An electric car has no engine oil, spark plugs or timing belt. It still needs maintenance: brakes, brake fluid, tyres, suspension, cabin filter and battery cooling. On a plug-in hybrid or a car with a range extender, the petrol engine gets oil and filters according to the manufacturer’s schedule.
Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they are trained to work safely on the high-voltage systems of hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).
How much does a service for your Chinese car cost?
The price of a service differs from car to car. The model, the engine, the specified oil and the mileage determine what needs to be done and which parts are needed. That is why we do not give an amount on this page.
Does the manufacturer’s warranty on your Chinese car stay valid?
Yes. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. This follows from the European rules for the motor industry. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. We record the service in our system and, if you have a service book, in that too. You receive an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
