The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, your Honda gets a minor or major service according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. If your Honda is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty stays valid as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule, even if you do not go to the dealer.

The price depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs. You can also visit our workshop.

If you combine a major service with the APK (MOT), the inspection is free. You drop off your Honda Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. If extra work is needed, we call you first.

Why have your Honda serviced at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?

We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. We service your Honda to the manufacturer’s specifications, with parts and oil that suit your car.

The Jazz and the Civic are the most common Hondas in the Netherlands. We know the petrol engines, the e:HEV hybrid system and the CVT automatic of the older Jazz. We read the service code of your Honda and carry out the work that goes with it.

What servicing does the manufacturer specify for your Honda?

Newer Hondas have a service reminder on the dashboard. It shows a letter and sometimes one or more numbers. The letter A means new engine oil and a new oil filter. The letter B stands for a full inspection of, among other things, the brakes, steering, suspension, pipes and hoses, exhaust and lights.

The numbers show extra work, such as a new cabin filter, new transmission oil, coolant, brake fluid, an air filter or spark plugs. Older Hondas without this reminder have a fixed schedule in the service book. We use the oil that Honda specifies for your engine.

We use your registration number to look up which service your Honda needs and, where possible, we read the service indicator. After the service, we reset the service reminder, if our equipment can do this.

Minor or major service for your Honda?

Which service your car needs depends on the model, the engine, the age and the mileage. A minor and a major service usually include the following:

Part Minor service Major service
Engine oil and oil filter Change and replace Change and replace
Fluids Check and top up if needed Check, change the brake fluid if the schedule requires it
Brakes and tyres Check for wear Thorough check, including brake discs and brake pads
Filters Check Replace the air filter and cabin filter according to the schedule
Spark plugs (petrol) Not standard Replace at the manufacturer’s interval
Battery Check Test with a battery tester
Timing belt (if the engine has one) Not standard Check whether the belt is due for replacement at the set interval
APK Book separately Free if you combine it with a major service

Common Honda models and what we check during a service

These Honda models are the most common in the Netherlands, according to RDW open data. We can service all of these models.

Model Number in the Netherlands What we check during a service
Jazz 23,178 Has a timing chain, not a belt. On the first Jazz with CVT (up to and including 2008), the gearbox oil. On the e:HEV, the oil and the brakes.
Civic 20,964 Oil to Honda specification, brakes and the service reminder code. On the hybrid, we also check the brake discs for rust.
CR-V 9,711 On 4WD models, the rear differential oil when the service reminder calls for it. On the e:HEV, oil and brakes.
HR-V 5,879 For the HR-V, Honda lists a valve clearance check. If the valves are ticking, we adjust them. Also oil and brakes.
Insight 4,209 Older hybrid: oil for the petrol engine, brakes and the 12-volt battery.
Accord 2,811 Older car: oil, brakes, suspension and rust. On the diesel, the diesel particulate filter (DPF).
FR-V 1,073 Older six-seat MPV: oil, brakes, suspension and rust.
ZR-V 330 Hybrid (e:HEV): oil for the petrol engine, brakes and the service reminder code.
Honda e 297 Electric: no engine oil, but brakes, brake fluid, tyres and cabin filter.

What do we check when servicing your Honda?

At every service we follow the manufacturer’s schedule. For your Honda, we also pay extra attention to these points:

  • Service reminder with codes: the letter A stands for oil and oil filter, the letter B for a full inspection. Numbers after the letter show extra work. We read the code and tell you beforehand what needs doing.
  • Valve clearance: for the Jazz, HR-V and Civic Type R, Honda lists a valve clearance check in the schedule. If you hear the valves ticking, we adjust them.
  • CVT on the first Jazz: the CVT automatic on the first Jazz (up to and including 2008) could start to shudder when pulling away. This was often down to the oil. Fresh oil and resetting the gearbox usually solved it.
  • Timing chain: the Jazz has a timing chain, not a belt. A chain has no fixed replacement interval. If you hear a rattling noise on a cold start, mention it at the service.
  • e:HEV hybrid: an e:HEV often drives on the electric motor. The petrol engine still gets oil according to the service reminder. On some full hybrids, the B service also includes a yearly check of the high-voltage battery.

Servicing a Honda e:HEV or Honda e

The e:HEV models, such as the Jazz, Civic, CR-V, HR-V and ZR-V, have a petrol engine that gets oil, filters and spark plugs according to the service reminder. We also service the older Insight and Civic Hybrid. The electric Honda e and e:Ny1 have no engine oil. On these cars, the work covers brakes, brake fluid, tyres, the cabin filter and a check of the electric drive system.

Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they are trained to work safely on the high-voltage systems of hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).

How much does a service for your Honda cost?

The price of a service differs from car to car. The model, the engine, the specified oil and the mileage determine what needs to be done and which parts are needed. That is why we do not give an amount on this page.

  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give your registration number and mileage. We tell you straight away what the service costs, including VAT.
  • You can also drop in: visit our workshop at Boterdiep 11. We look at your Honda and tell you on the spot what the service costs.
  • Extra work: if we find something during the service that was not part of the agreement, we call you first. We only do extra work with your approval.
  • Free APK: have the APK for your Honda done together with a major service and you pay nothing for the inspection.

Does the manufacturer’s warranty on your Honda stay valid?

Yes. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. This follows from the European rules for the motor industry. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. We record the service in our system and, if you have a service book, in that too. You receive an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.

No. The Jazz has a timing chain, not a belt. A chain has no fixed replacement interval. At the service we listen to the engine.

Yes. An e:HEV has a petrol engine. It gets oil and an oil filter according to the service reminder, even if you drive on electric power a lot.
