The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK for your Honda costs € 50 for petrol, petrol hybrid and electric, and € 60 for a diesel with a factory-fitted DPF, including the particle counter test. The prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

If you combine the APK with a major service, the APK is free. You bring your Honda in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. If a repair is needed, we tell you the cost first.

What do we check during the APK for your Honda?

The APK is the same legal inspection for every make: brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, seat belts, emissions and the vehicle identification (VIN and number plate). On a Honda, there are a few points we look at with extra care, or that you as the owner can keep an eye on:

  • CVT on the first Jazz: according to CarsGuide, the CVT gearbox on the first Jazz (up to and including 2008) could start to judder when pulling away. The cause was often the oil. New oil and recalibrating the gearbox usually solved it. Read more about flushing the Jazz’s automatic gearbox (in Dutch).
  • Hybrid (e:HEV, Insight, Civic Hybrid): on a hybrid Honda, the petrol engine gets an emissions test. For the APK it counts as a petrol hybrid. The APK costs € 50. These cars mainly use the electric motor to brake, so the brake discs get little use and can rust.
  • Older Honda models: on an older Civic, Accord, FR-V or Stream, we pay extra attention to rust on load-bearing parts, brake pipes and the exhaust.
  • Electric: the Honda e and e:Ny1 do not get an emissions test. We do pay extra attention to the tyres, brakes and suspension.

Servicing your Honda with us

We service your Honda according to the manufacturer’s schedule, with oil and parts that suit your car. If you have a CVT gearbox, we advise you on changing the oil. You do not need to go to the dealer for servicing.

  • Following the Honda schedule: we use your registration number to look up which service your car needs, and we use parts and fluids that suit your car.
  • Manufacturer’s warranty: having your car serviced by an independent garage does not automatically end your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the work follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts. We record the service in our system and you get an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
  • Free APK with a major service: if you have the APK done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.
  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give us your registration number. We will tell you straight away what the service costs.

Hybrid and electric Honda models

The e:HEV hybrid models (Jazz, Civic, CR-V, HR-V and ZR-V) and the older Insight and Civic Hybrid can all come to us for the APK and servicing. The same goes for the electric Honda e and e:Ny1. An electric Honda does not get an emissions test. On a hybrid, the petrol engine does get an emissions test.

Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they can work safely on hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).

My older Honda Jazz judders when I pull away. What could it be?

On the first Jazz with a CVT gearbox (up to and including 2008), it can be caused by the gearbox oil. New oil often helps. We first find out what the cause is. We tell you the cost in advance.

Is my Honda e:HEV a hybrid for the APK?

Yes. A Honda with e:HEV is a petrol hybrid. The APK costs € 50 and the petrol engine gets an emissions test.

Do you also inspect the electric Honda e?

Yes. The APK for an electric Honda costs € 50. There is no emissions test. We do pay extra attention to the tyres, brakes and suspension.

How much does an APK for my Honda cost?

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK costs € 50 for a petrol Honda, a petrol hybrid or an electric Honda, and € 60 for a diesel with a factory-fitted DPF, including the particle counter test. With a major service, the APK is free. All prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

Do I need to wait during the APK for my Honda?

No. You bring your car in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. The inspection itself usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. On Saturdays we are open for servicing and repairs, but not for the APK.

What happens if my Honda fails the APK?

We call you first. We tell you what the problem is, what the repair costs and whether there are any extra inspection costs. Once you approve, we repair the fault, inspect the car again and register the APK result with the RDW. If your Honda failed the APK somewhere else, we carry out a new APK after the repair at our normal rate.

Where are you based and where do your customers come from?

Our workshop is at Boterdiep 11 in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, close to Stadion Feijenoord (De Kuip). Our customers come from all over Rotterdam, including Centrum, Kralingen-Crooswijk, Hillegersberg-Schiebroek, Delfshaven and IJsselmonde, and from Barendrecht, Ridderkerk, Schiedam, Capelle aan den IJssel and Delft. You can park for free in front of the garage if there is space.
