The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, your Lexus gets a minor or major service according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. If your Lexus is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty stays valid as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule, even if you do not go to the dealer.

The price depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs. You can also visit our workshop.

If you combine a major service with the APK (MOT), the inspection is free. You drop off your Lexus Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. If extra work is needed, we call you first.

Why have your Lexus serviced at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?

We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. We service your Lexus to the manufacturer’s specification, with parts and oil that suit your car.

Most Lexus cars in the Netherlands are hybrids, with the same technology as a Toyota hybrid. We know that technology well. The CT 200h is by far the most common model, and many are now well over ten years old. That is when good servicing matters most.

What servicing does the manufacturer specify for your Lexus?

Lexus sets a service schedule for each model. How often a service is needed depends on the model and the way you drive. According to Lexus, a hybrid does not need servicing more often than a car with only a petrol engine.

On a hybrid, the hybrid system is part of the servicing. Lexus offers an annual Hybrid Health Check at the dealer. During this check, the dealer tests the hybrid battery, the drive system and the cooling. At every service, we check the hybrid battery cooling and read the hybrid system for fault codes.

We use your registration number to look up which service your Lexus needs and, where possible, we read the service indicator. After the service, we reset the service reminder, if our equipment can do this.

Minor or major service for your Lexus?

Which service your car needs depends on the model, the engine, the age and the mileage. A minor and a major service usually include the following:

Part Minor service Major service
Engine oil and oil filter Change and replace Change and replace
Fluids Check and top up if needed Check, change the brake fluid if the schedule requires it
Brakes and tyres Check for wear Thorough check, including brake discs and brake pads
Filters Check Replace the air filter and cabin filter according to the schedule
Spark plugs (petrol) Not standard Replace at the manufacturer’s interval
Battery Check Test with a battery tester
Timing belt (if the engine has one) Not standard Check whether the belt is due for replacement at the set interval
APK Book separately Free if you combine it with a major service

What do we check when servicing your Lexus?

At every service we follow the manufacturer’s schedule. For your Lexus, we also pay extra attention to these points:

  • Hybrid battery cooling: on the CT 200h and many other Lexus hybrids, air from the cabin cools the hybrid battery through a vent. Many models have a filter there. If that filter clogs up with dust, the battery can overheat. We clean the filter during a service.
  • Brakes: a Lexus hybrid often brakes using the electric motor. As a result, the brake discs get little use and can start to rust. We clean and check the brakes.
  • 12-volt battery: a hybrid also has a small 12-volt battery. It starts up the hybrid system. If this battery is weak, the car will not start. We test the battery during a major service.
  • Lexus warranty: according to Autorai, Lexus gives a warranty of up to ten years or 200,000 kilometres if the car is serviced by a Lexus dealer. The standard manufacturer’s warranty does stay valid if you have your new Lexus serviced by us according to the schedule.
  • Older IS and GS: on an older IS 250, IS 200 or GS, we pay extra attention to rust on load-bearing parts, the suspension and the brakes.

Servicing your hybrid or electric Lexus

A Lexus hybrid has a petrol engine and an electric motor. The petrol engine gets oil, filters and spark plugs according to the schedule. The same applies to the plug-in hybrid NX 450h+ and RX 450h+. The electric UX 300e and RZ have no engine oil or spark plugs. On these cars, servicing covers the brakes, brake fluid, tyres, suspension, cabin filter and battery cooling.

Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they are trained to work safely on the high-voltage systems of hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).

How much does a service for your Lexus cost?

The price of a service differs from car to car. The model, the engine, the specified oil and the mileage determine what needs to be done and which parts are needed. That is why we do not give an amount on this page.

  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give your registration number and mileage. We tell you straight away what the service costs, including VAT.
  • You can also drop in: visit our workshop at Boterdiep 11. We look at your Lexus and tell you on the spot what the service costs.
  • Extra work: if we find something during the service that was not part of the agreement, we call you first. We only do extra work with your approval.
  • Free APK: if you have the APK for your Lexus done together with a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.

Does the manufacturer’s warranty on your Lexus stay valid?

Yes. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. This follows from the European rules for the motor industry. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. We record the service in our system and, if you have a service book, in that too. You receive an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
