The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, your Mazda gets a minor or major service according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. If your Mazda is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty stays valid as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule, even if you do not go to the dealer.

The price depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs. You can also visit our workshop.

If you combine a major service with the APK (MOT), the inspection is free. You drop off your Mazda Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. If extra work is needed, we call you first.

Why have your Mazda serviced at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?

We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. We service your Mazda to the manufacturer’s specifications, with parts and oil that suit your car.

The CX-5 and the Mazda2 are the most common Mazdas in the Netherlands. We know the Skyactiv-G petrol engines, the Skyactiv-D diesel and the Skyactiv-Drive automatic. On older Mazdas, we pay extra attention to the brake hoses, the exhaust and rust.

What servicing does the manufacturer specify for your Mazda?

Mazda specifies a service schedule for each model and engine. A service is usually due after a year or after a set number of kilometres, whichever comes first. If you do a lot of short trips, a shorter interval may be needed. We use your registration number to look up the schedule for your Mazda.

On the Skyactiv-D diesel, the oil is particularly important. When the DPF (diesel particulate filter) cleans itself by burning off soot, diesel can get into the engine oil. The oil level then rises. That is why the dipstick on this engine has an X mark. If the oil level goes above it, the oil needs changing.

We use your registration number to look up which service your Mazda needs and, where possible, we read the service indicator. After the service, we reset the service reminder, if our equipment can do this.

Minor or major service for your Mazda?

Which service your car needs depends on the model, the engine, the age and the mileage. A minor and a major service usually include the following:

Part Minor service Major service
Engine oil and oil filter Change and replace Change and replace
Fluids Check and top up if needed Check, change the brake fluid if the schedule requires it
Brakes and tyres Check for wear Thorough check, including brake discs and brake pads
Filters Check Replace the air filter and cabin filter according to the schedule
Spark plugs (petrol) Not standard Replace at the manufacturer’s interval
Battery Check Test with a battery tester
Timing belt (if the engine has one) Not standard Check whether the belt is due for replacement at the set interval
APK Book separately Free if you combine it with a major service

What do we check when servicing your Mazda?

At every service we follow the manufacturer’s schedule. For your Mazda, we also pay extra attention to these points:

  • Oil level on the Skyactiv-D diesel: on the 2.2 diesel in the Mazda6 and CX-5, diesel can get into the oil. This happens when the DPF cleans itself by burning off soot. At every service we check the oil level against the X mark. Check the level yourself between services too.
  • Mazda2 Hybrid: technically, the Mazda2 Hybrid is a Toyota Yaris Hybrid. For the servicing, we follow the schedule that belongs to this technology. We have experience with this hybrid drivetrain.
  • Brake hoses and exhaust on the Mazda5: according to RDW APK data, analysed by Autozine, inspectors often found a damaged brake hose on the Mazda5 from 2010 to 2013. A leaking exhaust also came up. We pay extra attention to both at every Mazda5 service.
  • MX-5: the MX-5 is often driven only in summer. After a period off the road, we check the brakes, the tyres and the battery. On older cars, we also look for rust underneath.
  • Plug-in hybrid and electric: the CX-60 plug-in hybrid gets oil and filters for the petrol engine, even if you drive mostly on electric power. The MX-30 R-EV has a small rotary engine that generates electricity. That engine is also serviced according to the schedule.

Servicing your hybrid or electric Mazda

The electric MX-30 and Mazda6e have no engine oil, spark plugs or timing belt. They still need servicing, though: brakes, brake fluid, tyres, suspension and the cabin filter, according to the Mazda schedule. On the MX-30 R-EV, the CX-60 plug-in hybrid and the Mazda2 Hybrid, the petrol engine gets oil and filters according to the schedule. Because these cars mainly use the electric motor to brake, the brake discs can rust.

Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they are trained to work safely on the high-voltage systems of hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).

How much does a service for your Mazda cost?

The price of a service differs from car to car. The model, the engine, the specified oil and the mileage determine what needs to be done and which parts are needed. That is why we do not give an amount on this page.

  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give your registration number and mileage. We tell you straight away what the service costs, including VAT.
  • You can also drop in: visit our workshop at Boterdiep 11. We look at your Mazda and tell you on the spot what the service costs.
  • Extra work: if we find something during the service that was not part of the agreement, we call you first. We only do extra work with your approval.
  • Free APK: if you have the APK for your Mazda done together with a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.

Does the manufacturer’s warranty on your Mazda stay valid?

Yes. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. This follows from the European rules for the motor industry. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. We record the service in our system and, if you have a service book, in that too. You receive an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.

Frequently asked questions about servicing your Mazda

No need to click: all the answers below are already open for you.

The oil level in my Mazda diesel is rising. Is that normal?

No. On the Skyactiv-D diesel, diesel can get into the oil when the DPF cleans itself by burning off soot. If the level goes above the X mark on the dipstick, have the oil changed. We also look at why the DPF needs to clean itself so often.

Do you also service my Mazda2 Hybrid?

Yes. The Mazda2 Hybrid uses the same technology as the Toyota Yaris Hybrid. We service the petrol engine and check the hybrid drivetrain according to the schedule.

How much does a service for my Mazda cost?

It depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs, including VAT. You can also visit our workshop. If you combine a major service with the APK, the inspection is free.

Will my manufacturer’s warranty be void if you service my Mazda?

No. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. You receive an invoice listing all the work.

Can I wait while you do the service?

No. You drop off your Mazda Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. A minor service is often ready within a few hours. We call you when the car is ready.
