The short answer
At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, your Volkswagen gets a minor or major service according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. If your Volkswagen is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty stays valid as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule, even if you do not go to the dealer.
The price depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs. You can also visit our workshop.
If you combine a major service with the APK (MOT), the inspection is free. You drop off your Volkswagen Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. If extra work is needed, we call you first.

Why have your Volkswagen serviced at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?
We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. We service your Volkswagen to the manufacturer’s specification, with parts and oil that suit your car.
According to RAI Vereniging, Volkswagen is the most common car brand in the Netherlands. We know the TSI petrol engines, the TDI diesel engines, the DSG automatic gearbox (an automatic with two clutches) and the electronic parking brake. You do not need to go to the dealer to have your Volkswagen serviced.

What servicing does the manufacturer specify for your Volkswagen?
Volkswagen uses two kinds of servicing. With LongLife service, the car tells you itself when a service is due. That depends on how and how much you drive. With a fixed interval, the car gets a service every year or after a set number of kilometres. You can see which system your car uses in the service book or on the dashboard.
The type of engine oil depends on the service system and the engine. LongLife service needs oil that meets a special VW specification. We use the oil that Volkswagen specifies for your engine. With the wrong oil, the LongLife system cannot work properly.
We use your registration number to look up which service your Volkswagen needs and, where possible, we read the service indicator. After the service, we reset the service reminder, if our equipment can do this.
Minor or major service for your Volkswagen?
Which service your car needs depends on the model, the engine, the age and the mileage. A minor and a major service usually include the following:
| Part | Minor service | Major service |
|---|---|---|
| Engine oil and oil filter | Change and replace | Change and replace |
| Fluids | Check and top up if needed | Check, change the brake fluid if the schedule requires it |
| Brakes and tyres | Check for wear | Thorough check, including brake discs and brake pads |
| Filters | Check | Replace the air filter and cabin filter according to the schedule |
| Spark plugs (petrol) | Not standard | Replace at the manufacturer’s interval |
| Battery | Check | Test with a battery tester |
| Timing belt (if the engine has one) | Not standard | Check whether the belt is due for replacement at the set interval |
| APK | Book separately | Free if you combine it with a major service |

What do we check when servicing your Volkswagen?
At every service we follow the manufacturer’s schedule. For your Volkswagen, we also pay extra attention to these points:

Servicing your hybrid or electric Volkswagen
An electric ID.3, ID.4, ID.5 or ID.7 has no engine oil, spark plugs or timing belt. It still needs servicing: brakes, brake fluid, tyres, suspension, cabin filter and battery cooling, according to the Volkswagen schedule. On a plug-in hybrid, such as the Golf GTE or the Tiguan eHybrid, the petrol engine gets oil and filters according to the schedule.
Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they are trained to work safely on the high-voltage systems of hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).
How much does a service for your Volkswagen cost?
The price of a service differs from car to car. The model, the engine, the specified oil and the mileage determine what needs to be done and which parts are needed. That is why we do not give an amount on this page.
Does the manufacturer’s warranty on your Volkswagen stay valid?
Yes. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. This follows from the European rules for the motor industry. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. We record the service in our system and, if you have a service book, in that too. You receive an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
