The short answer
At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, your MG gets a minor or major service according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. If your MG is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty stays valid as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule, even if you do not go to the dealer.
The price depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs. You can also visit our workshop.
If you combine a major service with the APK (MOT), the inspection is free. You drop off your MG Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. If extra work is needed, we call you first.

Why have your MG serviced at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?
We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. We service your MG to the manufacturer’s specifications, with parts and oil that suit your car.
MG has two sides. The new MGs are often electric or hybrid. There are also still thousands of classic MGs on Dutch roads, such as the MGB. We service both. On a new MG, we take the MG warranty conditions into account.

What servicing does the manufacturer specify for your MG?
According to the MG warranty conditions, an MG registered from 2021 onwards has a manufacturer’s warranty of seven years or 150,000 kilometres. An independent garage may carry out the servicing. Each main service must take place within 1,500 kilometres or 28 days of the recommended time. MG also asks for parts of OE quality (the same quality as the original parts) and an invoice listing all the work carried out. For the rust warranty, MG does require a yearly check by an authorised MG repairer.
We follow those conditions. You get an itemised invoice, so your service history stays complete. On a classic MG, we carry out the servicing that suits the age of the car and how it is used.
We use your registration number to look up which service your MG needs and, where possible, we read the service indicator. After the service, we reset the service reminder, if our equipment can do this.
Minor or major service for your MG?
Which service your car needs depends on the model, the engine, the age and the mileage. A minor and a major service usually include the following:
| Part | Minor service | Major service |
|---|---|---|
| Engine oil and oil filter | Change and replace | Change and replace |
| Fluids | Check and top up if needed | Check, change the brake fluid if the schedule requires it |
| Brakes and tyres | Check for wear | Thorough check, including brake discs and brake pads |
| Filters | Check | Replace the air filter and cabin filter according to the schedule |
| Spark plugs (petrol) | Not standard | Replace at the manufacturer’s interval |
| Battery | Check | Test with a battery tester |
| Timing belt (if the engine has one) | Not standard | Check whether the belt is due for replacement at the set interval |
| APK | Book separately | Free if you combine it with a major service |

Common MG models and what we check during a service
These MG models are the most common in the Netherlands, according to RDW open data. We can service all of these models.

| MG5 Electric | 2,916 | Electric estate: brakes, brake fluid, tyres, cabin filter and the battery cooling. |

What do we check when servicing your MG?
At every service we follow the manufacturer’s schedule. For your MG, we also pay extra attention to these points:
Also read about replacing the brakes (in Dutch) and replacing the timing belt (in Dutch), for example on the MGF and TF.
Servicing your hybrid or electric MG
An electric MG has no engine oil, spark plugs or timing belt. It still needs servicing, though: brakes, brake fluid, tyres, suspension, cabin filter and the battery cooling, according to the MG schedule. On the MG3 Hybrid+, ZS Hybrid+ and EHS Plug-in Hybrid, the petrol engine gets oil and filters according to the schedule.
Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they are trained to work safely on the high-voltage systems of hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).
How much does a service for your MG cost?
The price of a service differs from car to car. The model, the engine, the specified oil and the mileage determine what needs to be done and which parts are needed. That is why we do not give an amount on this page.
Does the manufacturer’s warranty on your MG stay valid?
Yes. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. This follows from the European rules for the motor industry. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. We record the service in our system and, if you have a service book, in that too. You receive an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
