The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK for your Saab costs € 50 for petrol, petrol hybrid and electric, and € 60 for a diesel with a factory-fitted DPF, including the particle counter test. The prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

If you combine the APK with a major service, the APK is free. You bring your Saab in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. If a repair is needed, we tell you the cost first.

Why have your Saab inspected at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?

We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. Our qualified inspectors check your Saab against the legal APK requirements. You know in advance what the inspection costs.

Saab went bankrupt at the end of 2011, but Saab drivers are loyal. There are still more than 18,000 Saab 9-3s on the road in the Netherlands. According to AM-online, original parts are still available through Orio, the former Saab parts company. We inspect and service your Saab with the right parts.

What do we check during the APK for your Saab?

The APK is the same legal inspection for every make: brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, seat belts, emissions and the vehicle identification (VIN and number plate). On a Saab, there are a few points we look at with extra care, or that you as the owner can keep an eye on:

  • Parts: since Saab went bankrupt, Orio has supplied the original parts. Most service parts for the 9-3 and 9-5 are readily available. We look them up for you.
  • Turbo engines: most Saabs have a turbo engine. It needs good oil, changed in good time. At every service, we check for oil leaks and make sure the turbo is working properly.
  • Diesel with a DPF: on a 9-3 or 9-5 TiD with a factory-fitted DPF (diesel particulate filter), the particle counter test is part of the APK. A removed DPF means the car fails.
  • Classic Saabs: on a 900, 96 or 99, we pay extra attention to rust on the floor and the sills, the brake pipes and the exhaust. Different requirements sometimes apply to a classic car, for example for emissions.

Servicing your Saab with us

We service your Saab following the manufacturer’s schedule, with oil and parts that suit your car. If you have an automatic gearbox, we advise you on changing the oil.

  • Following the Saab schedule: we use your registration number to look up which service your car needs, and we use parts and fluids that suit your car.
  • Manufacturer’s warranty: the manufacturer’s warranty on a Saab has expired. We record every service and you get an invoice listing all the work. This is also useful for the next owner.
  • Free APK with a major service: if you have the APK done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.
  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give us your registration number. We will tell you straight away what the service costs.
