The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, your Tesla gets a minor or major service according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. If your Tesla is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty stays valid as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule, even if you do not go to the dealer.

The price depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs. You can also visit our workshop.

The APK (MOT) can be done in the same visit. You drop off your Tesla Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. If extra work is needed, we call you first.

Why have your Tesla serviced at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?

We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. We service your Tesla to the manufacturer’s specification, with parts that suit your car.

A Tesla needs little servicing, but the brakes, suspension and tyres do need attention. German inspection figures show that Teslas there have defects more often than other electric cars. With us, you can have these parts checked in good time. You do not need to go to Tesla for servicing.

What servicing does the manufacturer specify for your Tesla?

Tesla has no fixed service with an oil change. Instead, Tesla gives maintenance recommendations for each part in the owner’s manual. For the Model Y, these include rotating the tyres every 10,000 kilometres, replacing the cabin filter every 2 years and checking the brake fluid every 4 years.

In countries where roads are salted in winter, such as the Netherlands, Tesla recommends cleaning the brake callipers every year or every 20,000 kilometres. On models with a HEPA filter, the owner’s manual says that filter should be replaced every 3 years. The recommendations can differ from model to model. We look them up for your Tesla.

We use your registration number to look up which service your Tesla needs and, where possible, we read the service indicator. After the service, we reset the service reminder, if our equipment can do this.

Minor or major service for your Tesla?

Which service your car needs depends on the model, the engine, the age and the mileage. A minor and a major service usually include the following:

Part Minor service Major service
Brakes and brake fluid Check Thorough check, change the brake fluid if the schedule requires it
Tyres Measure tread depth and pressure Swap or replace if needed
Cabin filter Check Replace according to the schedule
Coolant Check Change if the schedule requires it
12-volt battery Check Test with a battery tester
Suspension and steering Check Thorough check
Wipers and lights Check Check and replace if needed
APK Book separately Can be done in the same visit

What do we check when servicing your Tesla?

At every service we follow the manufacturer’s schedule. For your Tesla, we also pay extra attention to these points:

  • Cleaning the brake callipers: a Tesla mainly brakes using the electric motor, so the brakes get little use. Road salt can make the brake callipers stick and the brake discs rust. We clean the brake callipers, as Tesla recommends, and lubricate the guide pins where needed.
  • Suspension and axles: according to the German TÜV Report 2026, 17.3 per cent of two- and three-year-old Model Ys had a significant defect at their inspection. For the Model 3, it was 13.1 per cent. The defects were mainly in the axle suspension, the brake discs and the lights. We check these parts at every service.
  • Tyre rotation: a Tesla is heavy and accelerates quickly. This makes the tyres wear faster. Tesla recommends rotating the tyres every 10,000 kilometres, or sooner if the difference in tread depth is 1.5 mm or more.
  • Filters: the cabin filter keeps dust and pollen out of the car. Tesla recommends replacing this filter every 2 years. On models with a HEPA filter and carbon filters, it is every 3 years.
  • Brake fluid: Tesla recommends checking the brake fluid every 4 years and changing it if needed. We do this during the service.

Servicing your electric Tesla

A Tesla is fully electric. There is no engine oil, oil filter, spark plug or timing belt. That is why the table of minor and major service items for a Tesla lists different parts: brakes, brake fluid, tyres, suspension, the cabin filter and the coolant. We also check the 12-volt battery.

Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they are trained to work safely on the high-voltage systems of hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).

How much does a service for your Tesla cost?

The price of a service differs from car to car. The model, the engine, the specified oil and the mileage determine what needs to be done and which parts are needed. That is why we do not give an amount on this page.

  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give your registration number and mileage. We tell you straight away what the service costs, including VAT.
  • You can also drop in: visit our workshop at Boterdiep 11. We look at your Tesla and tell you on the spot what the service costs.
  • Extra work: if we find something during the service that was not part of the agreement, we call you first. We only do extra work with your approval.
  • APK in the same visit: the APK for your Tesla can be done during the same visit.

Does the manufacturer’s warranty on your Tesla stay valid?

Yes. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. This follows from the European rules for the motor industry. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. We record the service in our system and, if you have a service book, in that too. You receive an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
