The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK for your Lexus costs € 50, and the same price applies to a hybrid or an electric Lexus. The price includes VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

If you combine the APK with a major service, the APK is free. You bring your Lexus in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. If a repair is needed, we tell you the cost first.

What do we check during the APK for your Lexus?

The APK is the same legal inspection for every make: brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, seat belts, emissions and the vehicle identification (VIN and number plate). On a Lexus, there are a few points we look at with extra care, or that you as the owner can keep an eye on:

  • Hybrid: a Lexus hybrid uses the same technology as a Toyota hybrid. For the APK it counts as a petrol hybrid. The petrol engine gets an emissions test. These cars mainly use the electric motor to brake, so the brake discs get little use and can rust.
  • Hybrid battery cooling: on the CT 200h and other hybrids, the hybrid battery is cooled by air, through a vent with a filter inside the car. If that filter gets clogged with dust, the battery can overheat. We clean it during a service.
  • Lexus warranty: according to Autorai, Lexus gives a warranty of up to ten years or 200,000 kilometres, as long as a Lexus dealer services the car. We want to be clear about that.

If you want to keep the extended Lexus warranty, have your car serviced by a Lexus dealer. You are still welcome to come to us for the APK. If your Lexus is more than ten years old or has covered more than 200,000 kilometres, that warranty no longer applies. If you do not need the extended warranty, we are happy to service your Lexus.

Servicing your Lexus with us

We service your Lexus according to the manufacturer’s schedule, with oil and parts that suit your car. On a hybrid, we also check the cooling of the hybrid battery.

  • Following the Lexus schedule: we use your registration number to look up which service your car needs, and we use parts and fluids that suit your car.
  • Manufacturer’s warranty: the standard manufacturer’s warranty does not automatically end if we service your car, as long as the work follows the Lexus schedule and uses suitable parts. Please note: the extended warranty of up to 10 years only continues if a Lexus dealer services the car.
  • Free APK with a major service: if you have the APK done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.
  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give us your registration number. We will tell you straight away what the service costs.

Lexus hybrids and RZ

All Lexus hybrids, the NX 450h+ and RX 450h+ plug-in hybrids, and the electric UX 300e and RZ can all come to us for the APK and servicing. An electric Lexus does not get an emissions test. On a hybrid, the petrol engine does get an emissions test.

Will I lose my Lexus warranty if you service my car?

No. You do not automatically lose the standard manufacturer’s warranty. According to Autorai, however, the extended warranty of up to ten years or 200,000 kilometres only applies if a Lexus dealer services the car. The APK has no effect on the warranty.

Does my Lexus CT 200h count as a hybrid for the APK?

Yes. The CT 200h is a petrol hybrid. The APK costs € 50 and the petrol engine gets an emissions test.

What do you check on an older CT 200h?

We pay extra attention to the brakes, the tyres, the suspension and the cooling of the hybrid battery. If a repair is needed, we tell you the cost first.

How much does an APK for my Lexus cost?

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK for a Lexus costs € 50, and the same price applies to a hybrid or an electric Lexus. With a major service, the APK is free. All prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

Do I need to wait during the APK for my Lexus?

No. You bring your car in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. The inspection itself usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. On Saturdays we are open for servicing and repairs, but not for the APK.

What happens if my Lexus fails the APK?

We call you first. We tell you what the problem is, what the repair costs and whether there are any extra inspection costs. Once you approve, we repair the fault, inspect the car again and register the APK result with the RDW. If your Lexus failed the APK somewhere else, we carry out a new APK after the repair at our normal rate.

Where are you based and where do your customers come from?

Our workshop is at Boterdiep 11 in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, close to Stadion Feijenoord (De Kuip). Our customers come from all over Rotterdam, including Centrum, Kralingen-Crooswijk, Hillegersberg-Schiebroek, Delfshaven and IJsselmonde, and from Barendrecht, Ridderkerk, Schiedam, Capelle aan den IJssel and Delft. You can park for free in front of the garage if there is space.
