The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, your Cupra gets a minor or major service according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. If your Cupra is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty stays valid as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule, even if you do not go to the dealer.

The price depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs. You can also visit our workshop.

If you combine a major service with the APK (MOT), the inspection is free. You drop off your Cupra Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. If extra work is needed, we call you first.

Why have your Cupra serviced at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?

We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. We service your Cupra to the manufacturer’s specification, with parts and oil that suit your car.

Cupra uses Volkswagen Group technology. We know the TSI engines, the DSG automatic gearbox and the e-Hybrid drive well. Many Cupras are still young. You are welcome to have your car serviced with us during the warranty period too.

What servicing does the manufacturer specify for your Cupra?

Like the other Volkswagen Group brands, Cupra has two types of servicing. With flexible servicing (LongLife), the car tells you when it needs an oil change. With fixed servicing, the car gets a service every year or after a set number of kilometres. Fixed servicing is the better choice if you make a lot of short trips or put the engine under heavy load.

You can see which plan your Cupra has in the service book or on the dashboard. Flexible servicing needs oil with a special VW standard. We use the oil that matches your engine and your service plan.

We use your registration number to look up which service your Cupra needs and, where possible, we read the service indicator. After the service, we reset the service reminder, if our equipment can do this.

Minor or major service for your Cupra?

Which service your car needs depends on the model, the engine, the age and the mileage. A minor and a major service usually include the following:

Part Minor service Major service
Engine oil and oil filter Change and replace Change and replace
Fluids Check and top up if needed Check, change the brake fluid if the schedule requires it
Brakes and tyres Check for wear Thorough check, including brake discs and brake pads
Filters Check Replace the air filter and cabin filter according to the schedule
Spark plugs (petrol) Not standard Replace at the manufacturer’s interval
Battery Check Test with a battery tester
Timing belt (if the engine has one) Not standard Check whether the belt is due for replacement at the set interval
APK Book separately Free if you combine it with a major service

Common Cupra models and what we check during a service

These Cupra models are the most common in the Netherlands, according to RDW open data. We can service all of these models.

Model Number in the Netherlands What we check during a service
Formentor 12,146 Oil to VW specification and brakes. On a DSG, we pay attention to how it shifts. On the e-Hybrid, also rust on the brake discs.
Born 9,667 Electric, with the same technology as the Volkswagen ID.3. No engine oil, but brakes, brake fluid, tyres and cabin filter.
Leon 5,773 Oil to VW specification, DSG servicing where the schedule requires it, and the electronic parking brake during brake work.
Terramar 2,887 New model: oil to VW specification and the service reminders. On the e-Hybrid, also rust on the brake discs.
Tavascan 2,609 Electric: no engine oil, but brakes, brake fluid, tyres and cabin filter as scheduled.
Raval 2,352 Small electric car: brakes, brake fluid, tyres and cabin filter according to the schedule.

What do we check when servicing your Cupra?

At every service we follow the manufacturer’s schedule. For your Cupra, we also pay extra attention to these points:

  • Flexible or fixed servicing: a Cupra with flexible servicing gets oil with a special VW standard. With a different oil, the car’s calculation is no longer correct. We stick to the service plan and the type of oil that go with your Cupra.
  • DSG automatic gearbox: the wet DSG needs new oil and a new filter at set intervals. The dry seven-speed DSG (DQ200) does not. We use your registration number to look up which gearbox your Cupra has.
  • Timing belt or chain: the 1.5 TSI has a timing belt. The 2.0 TSI in the more powerful versions has a timing chain. If your car has a belt, we look up the interval and tell you in advance when it is due.
  • e-Hybrid: the Formentor, Leon and Terramar e-Hybrid are plug-in hybrids. The petrol engine gets oil, filters and spark plugs according to the schedule, even if you drive mostly on electric power. The brake discs get little use and can rust.
  • Large brakes and wide tyres: many Cupras have large brakes and wide tyres. These wear faster if you drive in a sporty way. At every service, we measure the brake discs, the brake pads and the tread depth of the tyres.

Servicing a Cupra e-Hybrid or electric Cupra

The electric Born, Tavascan and Raval have no engine oil, spark plugs or timing belt. The Born uses the same technology as the Volkswagen ID.3. They still need servicing: brakes, brake fluid, tyres, suspension, cabin filter and battery cooling according to the Cupra schedule. On the e-Hybrid, the petrol engine gets oil and filters according to the schedule.

Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they are trained to work safely on the high-voltage systems of hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).

How much does a service for your Cupra cost?

The price of a service differs from car to car. The model, the engine, the specified oil and the mileage determine what needs to be done and which parts are needed. That is why we do not give an amount on this page.

  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give your registration number and mileage. We tell you straight away what the service costs, including VAT.
  • You can also drop in: visit our workshop at Boterdiep 11. We look at your Cupra and tell you on the spot what the service costs.
  • Extra work: if we find something during the service that was not part of the agreement, we call you first. We only do extra work with your approval.
  • Free APK: if you have the APK for your Cupra done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.

Does the manufacturer’s warranty on your Cupra stay valid?

Yes. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. This follows from the European rules for the motor industry. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. We record the service in our system and, if you have a service book, in that too. You receive an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.

Frequently asked questions about servicing your Cupra

No need to click: all the answers below are already open for you.

Is servicing a Cupra the same as servicing a Seat or Volkswagen?

Yes. Cupra uses engines, automatic gearboxes and electric drive technology from the Volkswagen Group. That is why the servicing rules are largely the same. We follow the Cupra schedule for your model.

Does the DSG gearbox in my Cupra need servicing too?

Yes. A wet DSG needs new oil and a new filter at set intervals. The dry seven-speed DSG (DQ200) has no scheduled oil change. We use your registration number to look up which gearbox your Cupra has.

Does my Formentor e-Hybrid need an oil change?

Yes. Even if you drive mostly on electric power, the petrol engine gets oil and a new oil filter according to the Cupra schedule. Oil ages even when the engine runs very little.

How much does a service for my Cupra cost?

It depends on the model, the engine and the mileage. Call +31 10 479 00 00 with your registration number and mileage, and we will tell you in advance what the service costs, including VAT. You can also visit our workshop. If you combine a major service with the APK, the inspection is free.

Will my manufacturer’s warranty be void if you service my Cupra?

No. Having your car serviced at an independent garage does not void your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the servicing follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts and oil. Extra warranties or mobility services from the brand may be linked to servicing at a dealer. You receive an invoice listing all the work.

Can I wait while you do the service?

No. You drop off your Cupra Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am, or on Saturday at 9.00 am. A minor service is often ready within a few hours. We call you when the car is ready.

Where is your workshop, and can I come to you from outside Rotterdam?
