At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK for your Cupra costs € 50, whether it runs on petrol, is an e-Hybrid or is electric. The price includes VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

If you combine the APK with a major service, the APK is free. You bring your Cupra in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. If a repair is needed, we tell you the cost first.

What do we check during the APK for your Cupra?

The APK is the same legal inspection for every make: brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, seat belts, emissions and the vehicle identification (VIN and number plate). On a Cupra, there are a few points we look at with extra care, or that you as the owner can keep an eye on:

  • The e-Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid: on a Formentor, Leon or Terramar e-Hybrid, the petrol engine gets an emissions test. The APK costs € 50. These cars mainly use the electric motor to brake, so the brake discs get little use and can rust.
  • Seven-speed DSG automatic: many Cupra models have a DSG automatic gearbox with two clutches. On older Volkswagen Group cars, the seven-speed version (DQ200) had problems with juddering and faults. If the gearbox judders when you pull away, have it checked.   • Born, Tavascan and Raval: these electric Cupra models do not get an emissions test. The Born uses the same technology as the Volkswagen ID.3. Because these cars are heavy, the tyres wear faster than on a comparable petrol car.
  • Sporty versions: many Cupra models have large brakes and wide tyres. During the APK we check the tread, any damage to the tyres and how well the brakes work.

Servicing your Cupra with us

We service your Cupra according to the manufacturer’s schedule, with oil that meets the specified Volkswagen standard. A Cupra shows a message when it is due for a service. You do not need to go to the dealer for servicing.

  • Following the Cupra schedule: we use your registration number to look up which service your car needs, and we use parts and fluids that suit your car.
  • Manufacturer’s warranty: having your car serviced by an independent garage does not automatically end your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the work follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts. We record the service in our system and you get an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
  • Free APK with a major service: if you have the APK done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.
  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give us your registration number. We will tell you straight away what the service costs.

Cupra e-Hybrid and electric

The Formentor, Leon and Terramar e-Hybrid and the electric Born, Tavascan and Raval can all come to us for the APK and servicing. An electric Cupra does not get an emissions test. On a plug-in hybrid, the petrol engine does get an emissions test.

Is Cupra the same as Seat?

No. Cupra is a separate make, but it grew out of Seat and uses Volkswagen Group technology. We know that technology well.

Do you also inspect the Formentor e-Hybrid?

Yes. The Formentor e-Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid. The APK costs € 50 and the petrol engine gets an emissions test.

Do you also inspect the electric Born?

Yes. The APK for an electric Cupra costs € 50. There is no emissions test. We do pay extra attention to the tyres, brakes and suspension.

How much does an APK for my Cupra cost?

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK for a Cupra costs € 50, whether it runs on petrol, is an e-Hybrid or is electric. With a major service, the APK is free. All prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

Do I need to wait during the APK for my Cupra?

No. You bring your car in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. The inspection itself usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. On Saturdays we are open for servicing and repairs, but not for the APK.

What happens if my Cupra fails the APK?

We call you first. We tell you what the problem is, what the repair costs and whether there are any extra inspection costs. Once you approve, we repair the fault, inspect the car again and register the APK result with the RDW. If your Cupra failed the APK somewhere else, we carry out a new APK after the repair at our normal rate.

Where are you based and where do your customers come from?

Our workshop is at Boterdiep 11 in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, close to Stadion Feijenoord (De Kuip). Our customers come from all over Rotterdam, including Centrum, Kralingen-Crooswijk, Hillegersberg-Schiebroek, Delfshaven and IJsselmonde, and from Barendrecht, Ridderkerk, Schiedam, Capelle aan den IJssel and Delft. You can park for free in front of the garage if there is space.
