The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK for your Alfa Romeo costs € 50 for petrol, petrol hybrid and electric, and € 60 for a diesel with a factory-fitted DPF, including the particle counter test. The prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

If you combine the APK with a major service, the APK is free. You bring your Alfa Romeo in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. If a repair is needed, we tell you the cost first.

What do we check during the APK for your Alfa Romeo?

The APK is the same legal inspection for every make: brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, seat belts, emissions and the vehicle identification (VIN and number plate). On an Alfa Romeo, there are a few points we look at with extra care, or that you as the owner can keep an eye on:

  • MultiAir engine: the 1.4 MultiAir in the MiTo and Giulietta uses oil to operate the valves. Because of this, the engine needs clean oil that meets the specified standard. If the engine runs unevenly or the engine warning light comes on, have it checked.
  • TCT automatic gearbox: the MiTo and Giulietta are also available with a TCT dual-clutch automatic gearbox. If it judders when you pull away, have the gearbox checked. Read more about flushing the Giulietta automatic gearbox (in Dutch).
  • Diesel with a DPF: on a diesel (JTDm) with a factory-fitted DPF (diesel particulate filter), the particle counter test is part of the APK. A removed DPF means the car fails.
  • Classic Alfas: on a Spider, GTV or older Giulia, we pay extra attention to rust on the floor and the sills, the brake pipes and the exhaust.

Servicing your Alfa Romeo with us

We service your Alfa Romeo following the manufacturer’s schedule. We use oil that meets the specified standard. On the MultiAir, this is extra important. We also replace the timing belt in good time.

  • Following the Alfa Romeo schedule: we use your registration number to look up which service your car needs, and we use parts and fluids that suit your car.
  • Manufacturer’s warranty: having your car serviced by an independent garage does not automatically end your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the work follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts. We record the service in our system and you get an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
  • Free APK with a major service: if you have the APK done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.
  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give us your registration number. We will tell you straight away what the service costs.

Alfa Romeo Tonale and Junior

We can do the APK and servicing on the plug-in hybrid Tonale and the electric Junior. An electric Alfa Romeo does not get an emissions test. On a plug-in hybrid, the petrol engine does get an emissions test.

What do you check when servicing a Giulietta or MiTo with a MultiAir engine?

The oil. The MultiAir engine uses oil to operate the valves, so it needs clean oil that meets the specified standard. We change the oil in good time and replace the timing belt on schedule.

My Giulietta with an automatic gearbox judders. What could it be?

On the TCT automatic gearbox, this can be caused by the clutch or the oil. We first find out what the cause is. We tell you in advance what the diagnosis and any repair will cost.

Do you also inspect a classic Alfa Romeo Spider?

Yes. We also inspect classic Alfas with a Dutch number plate. We pay extra attention to rust on the floor and the sills, the brake pipes and the exhaust.

How much does an APK for my Alfa Romeo cost?

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK costs € 50 for a petrol Alfa Romeo, a petrol hybrid or an electric Alfa Romeo, and € 60 for a diesel with a factory-fitted DPF, including the particle counter test. With a major service, the APK is free. All prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

Do I need to wait during the APK for my Alfa Romeo?

No. You bring your car in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. The inspection itself usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. On Saturdays we are open for servicing and repairs, but not for the APK.

What happens if my Alfa Romeo fails the APK?

We call you first. We tell you what the problem is, what the repair costs and whether there are any extra inspection costs. Once you approve, we repair the fault, inspect the car again and register the APK result with the RDW. If your Alfa Romeo failed the APK somewhere else, we carry out a new APK after the repair at our normal rate.

Where are you based and where do your customers come from?

Our workshop is at Boterdiep 11 in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, close to Stadion Feijenoord (De Kuip). Our customers come from all over Rotterdam, including Centrum, Kralingen-Crooswijk, Hillegersberg-Schiebroek, Delfshaven and IJsselmonde, and from Barendrecht, Ridderkerk, Schiedam, Capelle aan den IJssel and Delft. You can park for free in front of the garage if there is space.
