What do we check during the APK for your Daihatsu?

The APK is the same legal inspection for every make: brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, seat belts, emissions and the vehicle identification (VIN and number plate). On a Daihatsu, there are a few points we look at with extra care, or that you as the owner can keep an eye on:

  • No longer sold new: since 2013, Daihatsu no longer sells new cars in Europe. According to Auto Bild, parts have remained available. For servicing and the APK, you can go to a garage for all makes, such as ours.
  • Rust: most Daihatsu cars are now well over ten years old. During the APK we pay extra attention to rust on load-bearing parts such as the sills and the floor, to the brake pipes and to the exhaust.
  • Terios with four-wheel drive: on the Terios we also check the driveshafts, the rubber covers around them (CV boots) and the suspension.

Servicing your Daihatsu with us

We service your Daihatsu according to the manufacturer’s schedule, with oil and parts that suit your car. On an older Daihatsu, we also check underneath the car for rust at every service.

  • Manufacturer’s warranty: the manufacturer’s warranty on a Daihatsu has now expired. We record every service and you get an invoice listing all the work. This helps when you sell your car.
  • Free APK with a major service: if you have the APK done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.

Where can I take my Daihatsu now that there is no dealer any more?

At a garage for all makes, such as Autobedrijf Willemsbrug. We inspect and service your Cuore, Sirion, Terios or other Daihatsu, and we use your registration number to look up the right parts.

My Cuore has rust. Will it fail the APK?

No. Not every patch of rust means a fail. It depends on where it is. Rust on load-bearing parts, such as the sills, the floor or the suspension mountings, means the car fails. Rust on the outside of the bodywork usually does not. We show you what we find and what the repair costs.

Is an old Daihatsu still worth servicing?

Yes. It often is. A Cuore or Sirion is economical and technically straightforward. We tell you in advance whether a repair is in proportion to the value of the car.

How much does an APK for my Daihatsu cost?

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK for a Daihatsu costs € 50. With a major service, the APK is free. All prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

Do I need to wait during the APK for my Daihatsu?

No. You bring your car in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. The inspection itself usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. On Saturdays we are open for servicing and repairs, but not for the APK.

What happens if my Daihatsu fails the APK?

We call you first. We tell you what the problem is, what the repair costs and whether there are any extra inspection costs. Once you approve, we repair the fault, inspect the car again and register the APK result with the RDW. If your Daihatsu failed the APK somewhere else, we carry out a new APK after the repair at our normal rate.

Where are you based and where do your customers come from?

Our workshop is at Boterdiep 11 in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, close to Stadion Feijenoord (De Kuip). Our customers come from all over Rotterdam, including Centrum, Kralingen-Crooswijk, Hillegersberg-Schiebroek, Delfshaven and IJsselmonde, and from Barendrecht, Ridderkerk, Schiedam, Capelle aan den IJssel and Delft. You can park for free in front of the garage if there is space.
