What do we check during the APK for your Lynk & Co?

The APK is the same legal inspection for every make: brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, seat belts, emissions and the vehicle identification (VIN and number plate). On a Lynk & Co, there are a few points we look at with extra care, or that you as the owner can keep an eye on:

  • Brakes and tyres: according to Autoreview, the brakes on the 01 sometimes squeal and the front tyres wear quickly if the car is driven a lot in town. These cars mainly use the electric motor to brake, so the brake discs get little use and can rust.
  • 12-volt battery: according to Autoreview, the 12-volt battery (the small starter battery) in the 01 can fail early, as on the Volvo XC40. This causes starting problems. We test the battery during a service.
  • Charging flap: according to Autoreview, the flap over the charging port sometimes sticks, especially in cold weather. It does not affect the APK, but it is a nuisance. We look at it during a service.
  • First APK: a Lynk & Co needs its first APK when it is four years old. After that it needs one at six and eight years old, and then every year.

Servicing your Lynk & Co with us

We service your Lynk & Co according to the manufacturer’s schedule. On the plug-in hybrid and the hybrid, this includes an oil change. We also check the brakes, the 12-volt battery and the cooling system.

  • Following the Lynk & Co schedule: we use your registration number to look up which service your car needs, and we use parts and fluids that suit your car.
  • Manufacturer’s warranty: having your car serviced by an independent garage does not automatically end your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the work follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts. We record the service in our system and you get an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
  • Free APK with a major service: if you have the APK done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.

Lynk & Co and the APK

The Lynk & Co 01 is available as a plug-in hybrid and as a hybrid. The 08 is a plug-in hybrid. During the APK, the petrol engine gets an emissions test. The 02 is electric and does not get an emissions test. The condition of the battery is not inspected during the APK.

Where can I take my Lynk & Co for servicing?

At a garage for all makes, such as Autobedrijf Willemsbrug. The 01 uses Volvo technology, which we know well. We service it according to the manufacturer’s schedule.

My Lynk & Co 01 is hard to start. What could be causing it?

It is often the 12-volt battery. According to Autoreview, it can fail early on the 01. We test the battery and only replace it after you approve it.

When does my Lynk & Co 01 need its first APK?

Your Lynk & Co needs its first APK when it is four years old. After that it needs one at six and eight years old, and then every year.

How much does an APK for my Lynk & Co cost?

Do I need to wait during the APK for my Lynk & Co?

No. You bring your car in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. The inspection itself usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. On Saturdays we are open for servicing and repairs, but not for the APK.

What happens if my Lynk & Co fails the APK?

We call you first. We tell you what the problem is, what the repair costs and whether there are any extra inspection costs. Once you approve, we repair the fault, inspect the car again and register the APK result with the RDW. If your Lynk & Co failed the APK somewhere else, we carry out a new APK after the repair at our normal rate.

Where are you based and where do your customers come from?

Our workshop is at Boterdiep 11 in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, close to Stadion Feijenoord (De Kuip). Our customers come from all over Rotterdam, including Centrum, Kralingen-Crooswijk, Hillegersberg-Schiebroek, Delfshaven and IJsselmonde, and from Barendrecht, Ridderkerk, Schiedam, Capelle aan den IJssel and Delft. You can park for free in front of the garage if there is space.
