The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK for your Mitsubishi costs € 50 for petrol, petrol hybrid and electric, and € 60 for a diesel with a factory-fitted DPF, including the particle counter test. The prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

If you combine the APK with a major service, the APK is free. You bring your Mitsubishi in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. If a repair is needed, we tell you the cost first.

Why have your Mitsubishi inspected at Autobedrijf Willemsbrug?

We are an independent garage for all makes and an RDW-approved APK station. Our qualified inspectors check your Mitsubishi against the legal APK requirements. You know in advance what the inspection costs.

The Outlander PHEV (plug-in hybrid) was one of the first plug-in hybrids in the Netherlands, and many are still on the road. We know this car well. During the APK we pay extra attention to the brakes.

What do we check during the APK for your Mitsubishi?

The APK is the same legal inspection for every make: brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, seat belts, emissions and the vehicle identification (VIN and number plate). On a Mitsubishi, there are a few points we look at with extra care, or that you as the owner can keep an eye on:

  • Outlander PHEV: according to TopGear, Mitsubishi sold more than 8,000 Outlander PHEVs a year in the Netherlands in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Many of those cars are now ten years old or more. During the APK, the petrol engine gets an emissions test.
  • Brakes on an Outlander or Eclipse Cross PHEV: these cars mainly use the electric motor to brake, so the brake discs get little use and can rust. The brake calipers can also seize as a result. During the APK we test how well the brakes work. During a service we clean and check the brakes.
  • Small cars: on the Space Star and the Colt, the tyres, brakes and lights matter most for the APK. We check older cars extra carefully for rust.
  • Older Mitsubishi models: on a Lancer, Grandis, Carisma or Pajero, we pay extra attention to rust on load-bearing parts, brake pipes and the exhaust.
  • Automatic gearbox: many Mitsubishi models, such as the ASX and the petrol Outlander (not the PHEV), have a CVT automatic gearbox. Read more about flushing a CVT gearbox (in Dutch).

Servicing your Mitsubishi with us

We service your Mitsubishi according to the manufacturer’s schedule, with oil and parts that suit your car. On a PHEV, we pay extra attention to the brakes and the cooling system. You do not need to go to the dealer for servicing.

  • Following the Mitsubishi schedule: we use your registration number to look up which service your car needs, and we use parts and fluids that suit your car.
  • Manufacturer’s warranty: having your car serviced by an independent garage does not automatically end your manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the work follows the manufacturer’s schedule and uses suitable parts. We record the service in our system and you get an invoice listing all the work. Keep it in a safe place.
  • Free APK with a major service: if you have the APK done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.
  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give us your registration number. We will tell you straight away what the service costs.

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV

The Outlander PHEV and the Eclipse Cross PHEV can both come to us for the APK and servicing. On a plug-in hybrid, the petrol engine gets an emissions test. The APK costs € 50.

Our mechanics hold a GMTO certificate (the Dutch qualification for working on high-voltage systems). This means they can work safely on hybrid and electric cars. Read more about servicing hybrid and electric cars (in Dutch).

Petrol, petrol hybrid or electric € 50

Frequently asked questions about the APK for your Mitsubishi

No need to click. All the answers are already open below.

Do you also inspect a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV?

Yes. The APK for an Outlander PHEV costs € 50. The petrol engine gets an emissions test. We pay extra attention to the brakes, because they get little use on a plug-in hybrid.

Why are the brake discs on my Outlander PHEV rusting?

A plug-in hybrid does a lot of its braking with the electric motor. Because of this, the brake discs get little use and can rust. Brake firmly now and then in a safe place. During a service we clean and check the brakes.

My Space Star is getting older. What do you check during the APK?

On an older Space Star, we mainly check the tyres, brakes, lights and rust. Check the lights and the tread on your tyres yourself beforehand.

How much does an APK for my Mitsubishi cost?

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK costs € 50 for a petrol Mitsubishi, a petrol hybrid or an electric Mitsubishi, and € 60 for a diesel with a factory-fitted DPF, including the particle counter test. With a major service, the APK is free. All prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

Do I need to wait during the APK for my Mitsubishi?

No. You bring your car in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. The inspection itself usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. On Saturdays we are open for servicing and repairs, but not for the APK.

What happens if my Mitsubishi fails the APK?

We call you first. We tell you what the problem is, what the repair costs and whether there are any extra inspection costs. Once you approve, we repair the fault, inspect the car again and register the APK result with the RDW. If your Mitsubishi failed the APK somewhere else, we carry out a new APK after the repair at our normal rate.
