The short answer

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK for your Chevrolet costs € 50 for petrol, petrol hybrid and electric, and € 60 for a diesel with a factory-fitted DPF, including the particle counter test. The prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

If you combine the APK with a major service, the APK is free. You bring your Chevrolet in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. If a repair is needed, we tell you the cost first.

What do we check during the APK for your Chevrolet?

The APK is the same legal inspection for every make: brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, seat belts, emissions and the vehicle identification (VIN and number plate). On a Chevrolet, there are a few points we look at with extra care, or that you as the owner can keep an eye on:

  • Hardly any dealers left: since the end of 2015, Chevrolet no longer sells most of its models in Europe. For servicing and the APK, you can go to a garage for all makes, such as ours. Parts are easy to get for most models.
  • Small cars getting older: most Sparks, Matizes and Aveos are now ten years old or more. During the APK we pay extra attention to rust on load-bearing parts, brake pipes, the exhaust and the handbrake.
  • American Chevrolet models: on a Corvette, Camaro or other American Chevrolet, we check that all the lights work and are correctly adjusted. According to TopGear, red rear indicators are allowed in the Netherlands. Also read about the APK for American cars.
  • Diesel with a DPF: on a Captiva or Cruze with a factory-fitted DPF (diesel particulate filter), the particle counter test is part of the APK. A removed DPF means the car fails.

Servicing your Chevrolet with us

We service your Chevrolet according to the manufacturer’s schedule, with oil and parts that suit your car. We also replace the timing belt in good time.

  • Following the Chevrolet schedule: we use your registration number to look up which service your car needs, and we use parts and fluids that suit your car.
  • Manufacturer’s warranty: on most Chevrolet cars, the manufacturer’s warranty has now expired. We record every service and you get an invoice listing all the work. This helps when you sell your car.
  • Free APK with a major service: if you have the APK done at the same time as a major service, you pay nothing for the inspection.
  • Price in advance: call +31 10 479 00 00 and give us your registration number. We will tell you straight away what the service costs.

Where can I take my Chevrolet now that there is no dealer any more?

At a garage for all makes, such as Autobedrijf Willemsbrug. We inspect and service your Spark, Matiz, Aveo or other Chevrolet, and we use your registration number to look up the right parts.

What do you check during the APK on an older Matiz or Spark?

We pay extra attention to rust on load-bearing parts, brake pipes, the exhaust, the handbrake, the tyres and the lights. If a repair is needed, we tell you the cost first.

Do you also inspect an American Chevrolet?

Yes. We also inspect a Corvette, Camaro or other American Chevrolet with a Dutch number plate. We pay extra attention to the lights, tyres and brakes.

How much does an APK for my Chevrolet cost?

At Autobedrijf Willemsbrug, an APK costs € 50 for a petrol Chevrolet, a petrol hybrid or an electric Chevrolet, and € 60 for a diesel with a factory-fitted DPF, including the particle counter test. With a major service, the APK is free. All prices include VAT, the inspection report and registering the result with the RDW.

Do I need to wait during the APK for my Chevrolet?

No. You bring your car in Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 8.30 am and we call you when it is ready. The inspection itself usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. On Saturdays we are open for servicing and repairs, but not for the APK.

What happens if my Chevrolet fails the APK?

We call you first. We tell you what the problem is, what the repair costs and whether there are any extra inspection costs. Once you approve, we repair the fault, inspect the car again and register the APK result with the RDW. If your Chevrolet failed the APK somewhere else, we carry out a new APK after the repair at our normal rate.

Where are you based and where do your customers come from?

Our workshop is at Boterdiep 11 in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, close to Stadion Feijenoord (De Kuip). Our customers come from all over Rotterdam, including Centrum, Kralingen-Crooswijk, Hillegersberg-Schiebroek, Delfshaven and IJsselmonde, and from Barendrecht, Ridderkerk, Schiedam, Capelle aan den IJssel and Delft. You can park for free in front of the garage if there is space.
